About me

I am a pluralistic practitioner, which means I was trained to adapt my approach to the person sat before me. I work with people on a wide range of issues that may be impacting them. Whilst the approach may differ depending on need, it is my aim to ensure everyone I work with feels heard and respected within the therapeutic relationship we establish together.

I chose to go into counselling for many reasons, however a key one was that having received support myself in the past, I know how life changing it can be.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2019, and hold a Masters of Counselling from the University of Queensland. I am a registered member of the BACP, and also hold accreditation with them. You can find more information about what this means at this link. I also undertake regular additional training to keep up to date with best practices.

FAQs

Sessions are 50 minutes long (a therapeutic hour). I do not ‘cap’ the number of sessions you may have, however I will do reviews with you on a regular basis to ensure you feel your sessions are still of benefit. You are free to terminate our sessions at any point.

My current rates are £55 per session. Concessions are offered at my discretion, please get in touch to discuss.

Counselling can be very rewarding and enlightening, but it is not always easy.

Sometimes people will feel worse initially as they explore difficult topics and life events, or find their relationships change as they begin to put in place boundaries and learn more about their wants and needs in life.

Counselling is a confidential service, however there are times when information has to be passed on to relevant professionals or authorities. These include:

  • If you inform me that you or someone else is at risk of significant hurt or harm, or there is a risk to life. Whilst it is best practice to inform you first, I won’t always do this if it may increase any risk

  • To share information with third parties as requested by yourself (e.g. a GP)

  • If any legislation requires me to disclose information to relevant bodies; for example the Terrorism Act

  • If you initiate any criminal or civil action against me

  • My own clinical supervision

  • Whilst I take precautions, no electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely confidential, so please bear this in mind when sending emails

I offer in person appointments in Stirling centre  on Mondays and Tuesday evenings, as well as online appointments via a secure platform.

Unfortunately, due to the stairs leading up to the building, the room I practice in is not wheelchair accessible.

Due to insurance, I can only work with people who live in the UK.
